Job Summary:
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations on a construction site, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. This role involves managing a team of workers, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and the ability to address issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Management:
Supervise and coordinate daily site activities, ensuring that the project progresses according to schedule.
Monitor and manage the performance of site workers and subcontractors.
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections.
Identify and address potential hazards and ensure that all site workers are trained in safety procedures.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Quality Control:
Inspect work to ensure it meets the required quality standards and project specifications.
Address any quality issues or defects promptly and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve them.
Resource Management:
Coordinate the delivery and management of materials and equipment on site.
Ensure that resources are used efficiently and that any shortages or excesses are reported and managed.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as the primary point of contact between the construction site and project management, clients, or other stakeholders.
Provide regular updates on project progress, including any issues or delays.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other external parties to ensure smooth operation.
Problem Solving:
Identify and address any issues or obstacles that arise during the construction process.
Implement solutions to keep the project on track and minimize disruptions.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress reports.
Prepare and submit reports as required by project management.
Team Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and manage site personnel to ensure a productive work environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide training or guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training preferred.
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
